Booth The Streets Launches Acapella Who? Freestyle Series
Since 2021, Booth The Streets, the video series presented by Richmond director HundoMadeIt, has showcased more central Virginia hip-hop artists than any other platform in town… by a wide margin. The concept is straightforward: find an interesting location, hang a mic, roll the camera, and let the artist loose. The Auricular has done its best to keep pace with covering these videos–44 released in 2024 by our count–but even with that prolific streak, HundoMadeIt is raising the bar in 2025 with Acapella Who?, a tighter, more stripped-down series that takes hip-hop back to its foundation: raw, unfiltered freestyles.
Launched at the end of January, the series has six entries so far, with Naeddy Da Don, Jitness, Keelo, BC. Nate, Frsh Who, and Antt Rekklezz each delivering punchy, no-frills rhymes against a backdrop of silence, stylized only by striking color gradients. All but Naeddy Da Don have previously appeared on Booth The Streets, including Antt Rekklezz, who dropped a performance just one week before this new series debuted.
Each video clocks in around sixty to ninety seconds, a format tailor-made for the current “shorts” era of visual consumption. Paired with Booth The Streets, it’s a savvy move–serving the same mission of spotlighting local talent, but from a whole new angle.
There’s more to come, and while we might not cover every entry individually as we do with Booth The Streets from time to time, just know that The Auricular will be keeping a close watch on this interesting new series. You can catch each of the first six entries from Acapella Who? below, but make sure you subscribe to Booth The Streets on YouTube and follow it on Instagram, as well as HundoMadeIt.
