EZ Longway Bounds Over Grave Hurdles On “Dead Wrong”

Booming and solemn, the new single “Dead Wrong” by local MC EZ Longway is a surprising balancing act that offers a club-ready sound with a conscientious message. Released this past February, the song was also featured as an entry in the video series Opp Talk which only further showcases the clever balance between bobbing rhythms and blunt observations.

Filmed by the team behind Sniper Vision, the video rolls around EZ Longway as he rips through the track with a rolling cadence and cautious lyrics. “We some certified real n*****,” he boasts in the opening line before running down the false bravado he sees all throughout the scene. Abrasive and punchy, the lyrics take a solemn turn later as he evokes a fallen hip-hop legend and points to the dire outcome that can come from this life. “I seen a lot of bodies drop / From n***** tryna live that thug life,” he remarks later in the song which gives the track a heavy meaning even as the

“Dead Wrong” is the first single from EZ Longway since 2021’s “Face Card” (released alongside Mack Ben Widdit). Part of the Don’t Fold Entertainment group, Longway is sure to have much more coming out later this year, and if it’s nuanced and booming like this one, we can’t wait to hear it.
