RealLife Bino Confronts His Grief On “The Realest”

 In News

No one gets to where they are alone, and it’s this sentiment that RealLife Bino tackles headfirst on the video for his latest single, “The Realest.”

Fiery and poignant, Bino expresses the importance of his friends and family while wrestling with the loss and trauma that their absence brings, all overtop a somber piano line and furtive drumbeat. “I wouldn’t be the man I am today if you weren’t by my side / Hurt me that you couldn’t hold your son before you got that time,” he unloads early in the song, touching down on a close friend robbed of crucial time he’ll never regain. Later, Bino opens up more, addressing the toil multiple overdoses can have on those around you and how it all intertwines for a hard path forward.

The video, shot by TDP Production, captures all of this heavy grief with shots of Bino struggling to keep his head up and eyes open. It’s a struggle the video relays Bino will overcome in time, but a struggle that defines the man and artist that he is today.

Along with “The Realest,” RealLife Bino also released the single “Reality Checc” earlier this month. These two singles join several singles from last year as well as an eleven-track album from January of 2022 that all makes for a hyper-productive year for the local MC, all showcasing his vulnerable emotion and melodic fire.
