SmoothRyder Fimrly Holds Guard On “Keep A Stick”

 In News

Hip-hop artist SmoothRyder isn’t catching any strays on his single, “Keep A Stick,” a cautioning track that asserts his mindset and skill while keeping detractors on high alert. Released this past February, the song was also featured as an entry into the local video series Opp Talk, which adds to the track’s defensive stance with an intimidating presence.

Filmed by the Sniper Vision team, the video zeroes in on SmoothRyder as he leans into the mic and confronts the opposition around him with rhythmic poise. “You talking too much / I don’t play with little boys,” he remarks at one point, answering the hollow double-speak swirling around with assertive promise as he aims to clear the air by any means necessary. As the bass bubbles alongside a roaming piano melody, the MC’s persistent message continues to flow and fills the song with purpose and direction.

“Keep A Stick” is the lead single for SmoothRyder’s 2023 output, followed closely by the six-track Militant Mode Reloaded EP and the “Money And Murda Man” single, the latter of which just dropped a few weeks ago. All of it adds to the gnawing discography the young MC has been cultivating over the last few years, something that’s sure to grow over the rest of 2023.
