The Auricular’s Doug Nunnally Discusses Richmond Music On Latest Episode Of StudioB
For over 24 years, the StudioB radio show and podcast has been a supportive backbone of the Richmond scene providing coverage and airplay for local artists and bands from all over the musical spectrum. Currently recorded out of Red Amp Audio in the heart of the city, the show has been a fixture of airwaves and studios since the mid-’90s, originating on 104.7 The Buzz before bouncing around to XL 102, Snake Oil Recording, Scott’s Addition Sound, Boomtown Richmond, and even local practice spaces, each stop growing and energizing the show’s devoted passion for local music.
On the latest episode, the 7th of StudioB’s 24th season, host and local legend Jay Smack invited The Auricular‘s editor Doug Nunnally to discuss all things Richmond and play some recent favorites from the beginning of 2020. The Auricular covers a lot of of music here, too much really, and although it all can’t be contained within a single episode, Smack was able to touch down on a variety of great tracks to come out of the city so far in 2020. Indira & Guppy Jo, Arkaza, Angelica Garcia, ladylike_804, Greg Garner, Erin Lunsford, Johnny Cigs, hankych1ef, I X R A, The Firnats, Mister Earthbound, and addy are all featured on this episode, with conversations covering a dozen more influential and prolific local artists from right here in Richmond.
