Big B Shines Over Richmond In “River Loft Flows”

At the end of August, local MC Big B dropped Clock On The Wall, a wide-ranging hip-hop campaign packed to the brim with memorable grooves and head-bobbing bars. Along for the ride are a bevy of talented guests and collaborators who help elevate the record, even though the album’s most striking moments come when Big B flows solo. In these tracks, he relays his artistic heart and dedicated character freely and firmly, like on the album stand-out “River Loft Flows,” a song he recently revisited for a new music video.

The video, shot and directed by One Forever, captures Big B in the city that helped him hone his talent. On the streets of Shockoe Bottom and overlooking the buildings of Church Hill, Big B unwinds over a smooth, clacking beat with lyrics that let you know just where he came from and the work he puts in every day. “Not too many do it so better than me / Manifesting visions I thought I would never see” he spits, relaying the brutal truth that no matter how hard you grind, somethings are still just out of reach. But that thought doesn’t slow down Big B here as he continues to unload sensational lyrics and bars on this fantastic track that displays the full extent of his clever talent.
