Richmond Bandcamp Friday – April 2023

 In News

Returning again for Bandcamp Friday today, The Auricular is proud to present its collection of all Bandcamp links from Richmond musicians! This list covers over 1,500 musicians from the Richmond area and is a great resource to use for anyone looking to support a local musician today.

Bandcamp Fridays first began in March of 2020 to help musicians coping with lockdown orders by waiving all revenue share that would typically go to the platform. Since then, on the first Friday of the month, more than 800,000 fans have raised more than $81 million dollars for artists that can help with the little things like gas and groceries or the bigger things like studio time and new equipment. It’s a noble gesture from Bandcamp and one we’re happy to see come back each and every month.

To help focus that generosity locally, we’ve compiled a ridiculously long list of links from Richmond musicians so you can purchase a song, a record, or maybe some merchandise and help put some extra cash in their pocket today. This list is completely randomized with a new order available each time you visit the webpage in order to give equal placing to all of the vital artists in our vibrant music scene.

Take a look for yourself. Anything you can contribute, big or small, can make a big difference in how these musicians continue to make art moving forward.

One more quick note. The workers behind the Bandcamp platforms are currently trying to unionize in order to improve their working conditions (and overall lives). Please check out Bandcamp United (link here) to find out more about this organizing effort and find out how YOU can help ensure that Bandcamp becomes a better place for workers.

Don’t see your link below? Noticed we’re missing someone? Let us know and we’ll add them immediately so we can be as thorough as possible!
