Rocstagis Calls For Power On “Black Man”

 In News

Last week, Rocstagis dropped I’m Different, a bustling record full of dense lyrics that shows the forceful producer and MC doesn’t just have a lot to say, he has a lot to stand for. That sentiment is best summed up in the record’s stand-out track “Black Man,” which the fiery musician has now paired with a jolting new music video.

The video, stylishly shot and directed, showcases Rocstagis in a trio of environments that track his journey from reflection to conversation to dispute. Along for the cinematic journey are grainy shots of moments and figureheads in the Black Power movement, each giving the soulful beats and rousing words extra prominence as the video tracks on. Rocstagis unloads bold words and brash rhymes here overtop a passionate sample. “God created you / And you’re beautiful / Stand tall among them all / They don’t understand” goes the borrowed hook, only grounding Rocstagis’ call-to-action in a gutsy self-care mantra.
