TROY Shines With Ronnie Luxe & Live Band In “SCRUMDILLYYUMYUM” Video

 In News

It’s been over a year since hip-hop artist TROY dropped 96 DEGREES, his third and most musically layered album to date, but the Richmond-based artist is still finding new ways to explore its depths, this time with the release of a music video for “SCRUMDILLYYUMYUM.”

Backed by a full band and featuring soulful vocals from Ronnie Luxe, the video highlights the effortless pull of the track, one of the stand-outs from 96 DEGREES. A free-flowing groove opens with an inquisitive plea, setting the stage for TROY’s sharp, deliberate verses. His biting delivery contrasts with Ronnie Luxe’s smooth vocals, creating a dynamic push-and-pull that makes the song feel both laid-back and cutting, almost hypnotic in its ambiance.

The 11th track on 96 DEGREES, “SCRUMDILLYYUMYUM” follows a brief interlude also featuring Ronnie Luxe, a welcome shift after the introspective moods of “NAWMEAN” and “CHOOSE”. It settles into a similar pace but trades in heavier contemplation for a more cerebral, seductive atmosphere.

This video marks the fourth visual release from 96 DEGREES, following “YOU,” “NOISEY,” and “DYING,” each rolled out in late 2023 leading up to the album’s release in early 2024. The live band set-up for the “SCRUMDILLYYUMYUM” video highlights the full scope of artistry woven into 96 DEGREES, extending its creative life far beyond the typical album cycle.
